Back up your whole panel to object storage or another server, and restore it from the Backup page in the left sidebar.
What a backup contains
Each backup is a single archive file containing:
- The database: channels, playlists, schedules, settings, and analytics.
- The full media library.
- The channel logos.
- The panel branding.
Choose a destination
Under Backup Destination, choose where finished backups go:
| Destination | Details |
|---|---|
| None (local file only) | The backup stays on the same server as your panel. This is fine for quick snapshots, but it won't protect you if the server is lost. |
| Object storage (S3-compatible), recommended | Works with AWS S3, Backblaze B2, DigitalOcean Spaces, Cloudflare R2, Wasabi, and MinIO. Fill in the Bucket, Region, Endpoint (leave it blank for AWS), Path prefix, Access key ID, and Secret access key. Some providers, such as MinIO, also need Force path-style URLs ticked. |
| SSH / SFTP to another server | Fill in the Host, Port, Username, and Remote directory, and choose an Auth method: a private key or a password. |
Click Test connection to check the destination, then click Save settings.
Options
- Keep a local copy after uploading: untick to save disk space once a backup has been uploaded.
- Local copies to keep (1–50): older local backups beyond this number are deleted automatically.
- Encryption passphrase (optional): encrypts each backup before it leaves the server.
Saved passwords and keys are never shown again. To keep a saved value, leave its field blank.
Run a backup
Click ? Back up now. Progress is shown while the backup runs. Completed backups appear in Backup history, and Remote backups lists what's stored at your destination.
Restore a backup
- In Backup history, find the backup you want.
- If the backup is stored only at your remote destination, click ? Move to local first.
- Click ? Restore and type the confirmation when you're asked.
Restoring replaces your current database and media library with the backup. A safety copy of the current database is taken first. The panel restarts itself partway through, so it's unavailable for a few seconds and then comes back on its own.
Moving to a different server
The Restore button restores onto the same server only. To move your panel to a new server, take a fresh backup and contact support. The Migrating to a different server section on the Backup page shows the details support will need for your setup.
