Getting started: install IPTV Studio and launch your first channel Print

  • 0

IPTV Studio is your control panel for running 24/7 video channels. You upload videos, arrange them into playlists, and schedule what airs when. Each channel then broadcasts continuously as a standard HLS stream that plays in web browsers, IPTV apps, VLC, and on Roku.

What you can do

  • Schedule programming: playlists, weekly time blocks, and one-off specials.
  • Go live from OBS or any RTMP encoder. The channel switches to your feed automatically.
  • Simulcast to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Kick, a custom RTMP server, or Icecast.
  • Publish a public channel page, embeddable players, programming guides, and video on demand.
  • Monetize with VAST/VMAP ad breaks, and brand the channel with station IDs.
  • Reach TV viewers with a Roku app built for each channel.
Content rights: only broadcast material that you own or are licensed to distribute.

Signing in

Open your panel's address in a web browser and sign in with the admin username and password you were given. Your name and a Sign out link are shown in the top-right corner. If you've forgotten your password, contact support to have it reset.

Create your first channel

  1. In the left sidebar, click + New channel.
  2. Enter a Name. The default format is 1280×720 with 3000 kbps video and 128 kbps audio, which suits most 720p channels. You can change it later on the channel's Settings tab.
  3. Create the channel. It appears in the sidebar, and its tabs open across the top of the page.

Every new channel comes with an empty playlist named Default loop, marked with ?. The default playlist plays whenever no scheduled block is active.

Get your channel on the air

  1. Upload media: on the Media Library tab, drag in one or more videos. Wait until their status shows ready.
  2. Fill the default playlist: on the Playlists tab, select Default loop ?, choose From media library, tick your videos, and click Add selected.
  3. Check it's playing: open the Studio tab. Within a minute or so, the preview monitor shows your channel playing. Until then, it shows an off-air placeholder.
  4. Watch it anywhere: copy the Public stream URL from the Studio tab. It ends in /hls/<channel>/index.m3u8 and opens in VLC or any HLS player.
