Station IDs are short branded clips, such as bumpers, idents, or "you're watching…" spots, that play automatically between programs.
How station IDs work
Station IDs are kept separately from your main Media Library. After every N videos from the playlist, one station ID plays, and then regular programming continues. If you've uploaded more than one, a random one is picked each time, so viewers don't see the same clip over and over.
Station IDs play only during scheduled programming. They don't interrupt a live broadcast.
Set up station IDs
- Open the channel and go to the Station IDs tab.
- Drag your clips onto Upload station IDs, or click it to browse.
- Wait for each clip's status to show ready.
- Under Rotation, set Play a station ID after every … video(s) to a number from 1 to 100, and click Save.
To turn station IDs off, set the number to 0. Your clips are kept.
Choosing a frequency
| Content | Suggested setting |
|---|---|
| Music videos (3–5 minutes each) | Every 3–4 videos, about every 15 minutes |
| Short clips or news segments | Every 5–6 videos |
| Long-form shows (30+ minutes) | Every 1 video, so one between each show |
Tips for good station IDs
- Keep them short. 5–15 seconds works well.
- Export them in the same resolution and frame rate as the channel's format, so cuts are clean. A format badge (? ? ?) next to a clip tells you it differs.
- Match their volume to your regular content.
- Upload several variations, so the random rotation stays varied.
Removing a station ID
Click Delete on its row in the Station IDs list. It's removed from the rotation immediately.
