Tour of the studio Print

  • 0

The studio is laid out like a club booth: Deck A on the left, the mixer in the centre, Deck B on the right, and the Live Broadcast bar across the bottom. Below the studio, the On Air Now card and the station tabs (Request Line, History, Analytics, Playlists) control what AutoDJ plays.

Decks

  • Load a track: drag an audio file onto a deck, press LOAD, or use LOAD A / LOAD B next to any track in Request Line search or the Full Library.
  • PLAY / PAUSE starts and stops the deck; the platter spins and the tonearm drops.
  • CUE: while stopped, sets a cue point at the current position. While playing, it jumps back to the cue point and stops.
  • BRAKE slows the record to a stop like a turntable.
  • PITCH changes tempo by up to ±8 %. Click the percentage to reset it.
  • Drag the platter left or right to nudge the tempo while you line up a mix.
  • Click the progress bar to jump to that point. Elapsed and remaining time show beside the platter.

Mixer

Each channel strip runs top to bottom like a club mixer: TRIM ? HI ? MID ? LOW ? FILTER ? channel fader.

Control

What it does

TRIM

Input gain, ±12 dB. Use it to match the loudness of two tracks.

HI / MID / LOW

3-band EQ. Centre = no change, fully left = the band is removed ("KILL"), fully right = +6 dB.

FILTER

Centre = off. Left = low-pass (muffled), right = high-pass (thin). Great for build-ups and transitions.

Channel fader

The deck's volume.

Crossfader

Far left = Deck A only, centre = both decks at full, far right = Deck B only.

MASTER

Overall output level. REC records your whole mix to a file on your computer.

MIC

Microphone level. The mic button opens and closes it; DUCK lowers the music while you talk.

FX

Level of the sound effects and imaging carts. STOP silences everything playing on the FX channel.

Meters

Channel A, master left/right and channel B levels, with a dB scale.

AUTO MIX

Starts the other deck and fades the crossfader across over 4–20 seconds.

MONITOR

Turns your own speakers on or off. It doesn't affect what listeners hear.

To turn a knob, drag up or down (hold Shift for fine control), scroll the mouse wheel, or use the arrow keys. Double-click any knob or fader to reset it. Hover over a knob to see its exact value.

Sound Effects

18 pads, each playable by clicking or pressing its key. The applause, crowd cheer, rimshot, gong, explosion, boxing bell and phone ring are real recordings; the rest are studio-designed effects. Click the pencil on any pad to replace it with your own sound. Your sounds are saved in this browser.

Station Imaging

Any AzuraCast playlist whose name includes words like Ads, Adverts, Commercials, Promos, Station IDs, Drops, Sweepers, Bumpers, Liners or Jingles appears here, with one button per file.

  • Click a cart to play it in your mix (heard on air when you're live). Click again to stop it.
  • ? tells AutoDJ to play it on air now, cutting off the current song.
  • ? tells AutoDJ to play it next.
  • + MY CARTS adds carts from your computer (or drag files onto the panel), sorted into the same groups.
