Cast Bridge Resellers Print

  • 0

A CastBridge reseller account lets you sell CastBridge under your own name. You create client accounts, give each one a package within your own plan, and manage their streams. This article covers the extra pages resellers have: Clients, Demo widget and API.

Create a client account

  1. Open Clients in the top menu.
  2. Under Create account, enter a Username (lowercase, 3 to 32 characters), a Password (8 or more characters) and the client's Email.
  3. Set the Package (see below) and click Create account.

The client logs in at your panel address, or on your own domain if you've added one.

Packages

  • Max streams: shared from your own pool across all your clients.
  • Max outputs per stream, Max bitrate and Custom domains.
  • Stereo Tool, master_me & Broadcast (free processors) and Push to external servers.

Leave a number empty for unlimited. Values above your own plan are lowered automatically, and features your plan doesn't include can't be ticked.

Manage a client

Click a client's name on the Clients page to:

  • See their streams, mounts, status and listeners, and their Icecast and Shoutcast servers.
  • Change their package and email. Streams over new limits are adjusted or stopped automatically.
  • Set a new password.
  • Log in as the client to see exactly what they see. Click Return to your name at the top right to come back.
  • Suspend (with an optional reason): stops their streams and blocks their login. Unsuspend restarts the streams that were running.
  • Delete account: removes the client and all their streams. This can't be undone.

You can also create streams for a client yourself: pick them as Owner account on the New stream page. On an existing stream, Ownership at the bottom of its Edit page moves it to another of your accounts, keeping its links and settings.

Your network status page

In Settings > Public status page, tick Include my clients' streams (network page) to show all your clients' public streams on your own status page.

Monthly reports

Your clients don't receive our monthly report email, so your branding stays your own. You receive one report covering all your clients' streams.

Demo widget for your sales site

The Demo widget lets visitors to your website paste their own stream address and switch between their original sound and a processed one, live, before they buy. Nothing on their station changes.

  1. Open Demo widget, tick Widget is on, and set the heading, intro text, theme and accent colour.
  2. Set the Button text and Button link (your order page). The button appears while visitors listen.
  3. Under Sounds visitors can try, tick one or more recipes and choose which is selected at the start.
  4. Click Save, test it in the Preview, then copy the Embed code into your sales page.

Each demo stops by itself after a few minutes or when the visitor leaves, and there are limits per visitor and per stream so demos can't be used as a free restream. Demos running now lists active demos with a Stop button.

Stereo Tool sounds in the demo need a Stereo Tool licence key in your Settings; without one, visitors hear Stereo Tool's spoken reminder. The page warns you if this applies. The free recipes need no key.

API and WHMCS

To create and manage client accounts automatically, for example from your own WHMCS:

  1. Open Settings > API keys, enter a Label (for example WHMCS) and, ideally, your billing server's IP under Allowed IPs.
  2. Click Create API key and copy the key straight away: it's shown only once.
  3. See the API page in the panel menu for the available calls.

Revoke a key at any time; anything using it stops working. Open a ticket if you'd like our WHMCS module.
