Every Major DJ App Supports AzuraCast

AzuraCast accepts live connections from all Icecast and Shoutcast compatible broadcasting tools. Icecast mode is recommended AzuraCast uses Liquidsoap internally for all DJ connections so either protocol works.

Reverse Proxy Note: If you are using a reverse proxy service (such as Cloudflare) in front of your installation, be aware that these services often block direct connections to the broadcaster ports. Instruct your DJs to use the direct IP address of your AzuraCast server instead of the domain name.

Common questions about connecting DJ software to AzuraCast

AzuraCast is compatible with any software that supports Icecast or Shoutcast protocols including BUTT, Mixxx, SAM Cast, RadioBOSS, PlayIt Live, Rocket Broadcaster, and BUTTM. Icecast mode is recommended as AzuraCast uses Liquidsoap internally for all DJ connections, making the connection method largely irrelevant.

Either works with AzuraCast. However, Icecast mode is recommended across all software because it is more modern. AzuraCast routes all live DJ connections through Liquidsoap regardless of the protocol used by the client.

Log into your AzuraCast control panel, navigate to your station, then go to Streamers / DJ Accounts. The Connection Information section lists your server address, port, mount point, username and password needed to configure any streaming software. Hired Hosting customers can find these details in their client area after ordering.

First, double-check your DJ account credentials on the AzuraCast Streamers/DJ Accounts page. If you use a Cloudflare or reverse proxy in front of your AzuraCast server, the broadcaster ports are likely blocked instruct your DJs to connect using the direct IP address of your server rather than the proxied domain name.
